it started with 1 idea - and 2 incredible people
The idea? Create volunteer opportunities where the whole family can participate; regardless of age because kids are part of the community too.
The incredible people? Crystal Milne and Julie Kyliuk. They met in the most Canadian way possible - their kids played hockey together.
That’s how Bonavista Cares and Parkland Cares began. From birthday bags to school backpacks, food hampers and gift cards to purses of hope. They are the epitome of grassroots community building.
Backpacks filled with supplies needed for students at local schools.
Gift cards for families experiencing food insecurity. Cards are donated through local schools.
Grade 1 & 2 students from St. Boniface School made birthday cards for Calgary Food Banks birthday bags. Bags are given to kids who might not otherwise have a party.
For June & July, all donations (including profits from apparel sales) to hey buddie will be donated to Bonavista Cares & Parkland Cares.
Our goal is to raise $2,000 for their cause.
We have $145 in the bank. Only $1,855to go.
